Promoting Developmental Growth in a Child who is Blind or Visually Impaired

Children who are blind or visually impaired benefit from play and sensory stimulation activities for developmental growth. This seminar provides an overview of play and experiential learning opportunities to accommodate the child's visual impairment while promoting developmental support.  Parents, guardians, caregivers and service providers will be familiarized with  methods to enhance learning through play and teaching basic concepts and blindness related skills (such as orientation and mobility, literacy and braille concepts and compensatory skills) through meaningful activities.
